LOS ANGELES, Oct 29 — Li Bingbing will star in the superhero movie “Realm” for Chinese producer-distributor Fundamental Films and Stan Lee Global Entertainment, Variety reported today.
The 42-year-old Chinese actress has appeared in “Transformers: Age of Extinction” and “Resident Evil: Retribution.”
Variety said “Realm” is based on an original idea from Lee, the co-creator of Spider-Man, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Thor and the X-Men.
However, no plot details for “Realm” have been revealed.
Li will also produce alongside Gill Champion from Stan Lee Global Entertainment and Gregory Ouanhon of Fundamental, who will oversee production on behalf of their companies, the entertainment site added.
In a statement to Variety, Lee said, “What a kick it has been to create our first Chinese female superhero, and an empowering one at that.
“It has been such a fun experience bringing to life an international woman character, and the ability to do so has been different from anything we’ve ever done! I am thoroughly enjoying every minute of it.”
