TOKYO, Oct 21 ― It’s easy to see why Michael Jackson will always be the King of pop as his popularity remains strong even till today, years after his passing.

MJ had countless famous hits and one that can easily be among the most famous ones is “Smooth Criminal”. And while this has resulted in the tune being covered in nearly every genre imaginable, can you imagine what it would sound like played using a traditional Japanese bamboo flute?

Japanese musician Yoshimi Tsujimoto performed the timeless song using a traditional Japanese bamboo flute in this cool clip. Using a shakuhachi (a traditional Japanese bamboo flute) and two backup koto (Japanese harp) players, Tsujimoto recreates “Smooth Criminal” like you’ve never heard it before.
