CHICAGO, Oct 19 — Chicago trio Autograf aims to “inspire others to create a better reality” with its tropical-tinged dance music and pop-art esthetic.

The band has a new track trending in the blogosphere and plans to tour this season.

Who?

Mikul Wing, Louis Kha and Jake Carpenter make up Autograf, an electronic group combining art and music in equal measure and citing Banksy and Andy Warhol as inspirations.

They released their debut track, “Dream,” earlier this year, earning more than 5 million streams, and followed up last month with “Running,” the first in a pop art-inspired music series, for which they are creating a physical artwork for each track.

Why the buzz?

The band’s latest track, “Metaphysical,” is the second pop-art single, coming in the form of a song and an accompanying surrealistic portrait of the pop icon Twiggy—although the music alone has been enough to earn bloggers’ praise.

“It features the beautiful voice of New York City singer/songwriter Janelle Kroll, and Autograf’s signature tropical-styled vibraphone and thumping housey beats will have your body twinging all over,” writes Acid Stag.

“Janelle Kroll’s vocals marry nicely with the well-crafted synths, carrying the melody. This track moves from respite to layered, trop-house nuggets easily, balancing calm and dance with ease,” says Indie Shuffle.

What to listen to?

You can find links to Autograf’s music — and view the accompanying art — on SoundCloud, where they’ve also shared a number of remixes they’ve done of music by Lorde, Avicii and more. Also via SoundCloud, you can find links to get the new track on iTunes, Spotify and Bandcamp.

Where to see?

Autograf has several shows planned in the coming months, hitting Berlin on November 6, Singapore on November 20, and Oakland, California on November 28. On December 10 they’ll play Santa Ana, California, and they’ll be in Houston, Texas on December 18.
