LOS ANGELES, Feb 17 — The actor who played ill-fated millionaire Hurley in television series “Lost” joins Adam Sandler comedy “Ridiculous 6.”
Sandler’s comedy western has travelled from Sony Pictures via Paramount to its current home at Netflix, as Deadline recounts, where it will become the first of four films as a result of the pair’s exclusive deal.
Jorge Garcia, who had a seven-year stint as Hugo ‘Hurley’ Reyes on convoluted survival drama “Lost,” has since appeared on “Alcatraz,” “Hawaii Five-0,” and Kevin Hart / Josh Gad film comedy “The Wedding Ringer” (no relation to Sandler’s breakout “The Wedding Singer.”)
He now joins a “Ridiculous 6” cast that already includes Taylor Lautner (“Twilight” saga), Terry Crews (“The Expendables” series), Lavell Crawford (Huell from “Breaking Bad”) and Adam Sandler himself.
Luke Wilson and Rob Schneider join Garcia, Crews and Lautner as the half-brothers of Sandler’s character, who is an orphan raised by an Indian tribe (per TheWrap), while Nick Nolte is to appear as the main character’s father.
New Mexico’s Santa Fe hosts the project as it goes into production this month, with Frank Coraci of “The Wedding Singer” to direct.
Netflix had confirmed the project’s status when news of the move first broke in late January. — AFP-Relaxnews
