LOS ANGELES, Feb 16 — Lena Headey is “happy to confirm” she is pregnant with her second child.
The 41-year-old actress, who plays Cersei Lannister on hit HBO show “Game of Thrones”, is already mother to four-year-old son Wylie with ex-husband Peter Loughran.
And Lena is pleased to announce Wylie will become an older brother soon.
“I’m happy to confirm that I’m having my second child this summer,” she revealed in a statement released to People magazine.
Lena did not mention the identity of her child’s father.
The star has asked the media to take it easy on her as she prepares to give birth.
“I only hope that this announcement can help me to regain some of the privacy I have recently lost to prying photographers and ask that they please respect my privacy and let me enjoy this time,” Lena wrote.
The actress divorced from musician Peter in 2013 after being married since May 2007 and she has since remained mum on her personal affairs.
The fifth season of her show “Game of Thrones” is set to premiere on April 12.
She has previously spoken about what fans can expect from her scandalous character Cersei in fresh episodes.
“I think the more broken, the better. Cersei’s built where you meet her as this woman who seems to have it all under control — her head’s very nice and she’s well-dressed — and underneath it’s a whirling mess,” Lena explained to The Daily Beast. “So we really get to see what’s underneath that façade as the seasons go on, and I think next season is going to be particularly brutal for her.” — Cover Media
