LOS ANGELES, July 17 — Born in an oil boomtown in Mexico, Salma Hayek has become a huge name in Hollywood, but generally tries to stay out of the gossip columns. Which means that there’s somethings that you don’t know about the lovely latino actress.

Firstly, while attending boarding school in Louisiana at 12-years-old, she was actually kicked out and sent home because she build up a reputation for frequently terrorising the nuns of the school.

But things like that lead to her becoming the second Latin American actress to even be nominated for the Best Actress Oscar, for her role in 2002’s ‘Frida’.

2009 was a big year for her, as the singer Prince wrote a song about her daughter, with the lyrics “Hey Valentina, tell your mama she should give me a call”. Sadly though, Salma was busy as just five months after giving birth to Valentina, she had to be on the set of her movie ‘Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant’. — Cover Media
