Big American Cookbook: 250 Favourite Recipes from Across the USA by Mario Batali
For his latest cookbook, Batali takes readers on a culinary tour of America with 250 classic and regional specialties that include Texan and Carolina barbecue, Boston seafood chowders, spicy gumbo, and berry pies from the Pacific Northwest. And contrary to widespread practice, Batali restrains himself from the excessive “reinterpretation” of dishes, aiming instead to find the most authentic recipes from state fairs, local rotary clubs, ethnic groups and families.

Cooking School: Mastering Classic and Modern French Cuisine by Alain Ducasse
Inspired by the cooking school he opened in Paris in 2009, the Michelin-starred chef has written a textbook-style cookbook filled with 200 recipes that aim to teach readers how to cook French cuisine at home. Arranged in three sections based on difficulty, the book builds at the reader’s pace and features step-by-step instructions on how to properly execute iconic French dishes. The book also includes international recipes (sushi and curry) and a section on desserts.

Appetites: A Cookbook by Anthony Bourdain
“Appetites” is Bourdain’s first cookbook in 10 years and is described as a compilation of his favorite recipes for the home cook. The self-described “psychotic, anally retentive, bad-tempered Ina Garten” shares his favorite recipes, acquired throughout 40 years of cooking and globetrotting.

You could call Ina Garten’s latest cookbook a culinary love letter to her husband Jeffrey, a regular fixture on the Barefoot Contessa’s cooking shows. In her latest cookbook, described as her most personal yet, Garten compiles the recipes she’s been cooking for him throughout the last 48 years of their marriage. Dishes like brisket with onions and leeks, vegetable stew, skillet-roasted lemon chicken and salmon tacos. The book also includes a chapter devoted to bread and cheese.
