KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 — Bursa Malaysia remained higher at mid-afternoon today, bolstered by gains in some finance-linked indices, plantations and trade/service counters, dealers said.
At 3pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was at 1,652.68, up 4.44 points, after opening 4.79 points lower at 1,643.45.
Losers led gainers 384 to 310, while 308 counters were unchanged, 668 untraded and 18 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 950.54 million shares worth RM773.13 million.
Among heavyweights, TNB and Hong Leong Bank improved four sen each to RM14.34 and RM13.16 respectively, Maybank rose 11 sen to RM7.78 and Public Bank gained two sen to RM19.82.
Petronas Chemicals and IHH Healthcare declined one sen each to RM6.95 and RM6.37 respectively, as KL Kepong expanded 20 sen to RM24.04, while PetGas was flat at RM22.04.
The FBM Emas Index rose 20.66 points to 11,628.38, the FBMT100 Index advanced 21.29 points to 11,337.09, the FBM Emas Shariah Index was 3.76 points lower at 12,228.20 and the FBM Ace fell 17.73 points to 4,960.67.
The FBM 70 declined 7.72 points to 13,478.46.
Sector-wise, the Finance Index firmed 49.46 points to 14,308.96 and the Industrial Index was down 4.49 points to 3,140.55 and the Plantation Index bagged 17.19 points to 7,794.62. — Bernama
