KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30 — Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua), has sold 112,500 vehicles for the seven-month period from January this year.

Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd Managing Director Dr Zahari Husin in a statement today said the volume accounted for about 35.4 per cent of the total industry volume of 317,900 vehicles.

He said the newly-launched Bezza, had over 25,000 orders since bookings opened on July 16.

Over 2,600 cars were delivered in the 10-day period of the launch and a further 7,400 units in August.

Zahari said of the first 10,000 Bezza’s sold, 44 per cent were of the 1.3 litre Advanced Version automatic transmission, Premium X 1.3 litre automatic transmission (43 per cent),Premium X 1.3 litre manual transmission (three per cent), 1.0 litre automatic transmission (one per cent) and 1.0 litre manual transmission (one per cent).

With prices ranging from RM37,300 to RM50,800, the car comes in six different colours, namely sugar brown, ocean blue, lava red, ebony black, glittering silver and solid ivory white.

Similar to the Axia model, the Bezza is manufactured at Malaysia’s first energy efficient vehicles (EEV) certified manufacturing plant operated by Perodua Global Manufacturing Sdn Bhd in Sungai Choh, Rawang, Selangor. — Bernama
