HANOI, May 20 ― Vietnam's economic growth target of 6.2 per cent this year is attainable, a parliament official said today.

Even though export growth so far this year has been slower than usual, the GDP target would still be reached if Vietnam implements all of the economy boosting measures laid out by the government, Chairman Nguyen Van Giau of the parliament's Economic Commission said at the televised opening session.

Vietnam's exports in the January-April period grew 6.9 per cent from a year ago to US$49.7 billion (RM179.4 billion), below the annual target of 10 per cent.

The economy expanded by 5.98 per cent in 2014, the fastest since 2011. ― Reuters
