KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 — The Ministry of Health today discovered five new Covid-19 clusters, said Director-General of Health Malaysia Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah. 

The new clusters are the Kasih, Surat and Khazanah clusters in Sabah, the Sungei Way cluster in Selangor and the Bah Bundle cluster in Labuan.

The new clusters collectively have 94 active cases between them.

For Sabah, the Kasih cluster so far has recorded 35 Covid-19 positive cases as of October 11. So far 1,838 people were screened with all still awaiting lab results.

Meanwhile, the Surat cluster saw 25 active cases today, with 74 people being screened so far.

The index case for the cluster has been identified from individual symptomatic screening and subsequently placed in the Lahad Datu hospital for further care.

For the Khazanah cluster in Lahad Datu, 14 active cases were recorded until today, with 652 individuals were screened; 638 are still awaiting their lab results.

Meanwhile in Kuala Lumpur and Labuan, 18 active cases were recorded within the Sungei Way cluster, which involved the Petaling, Gombak district in Selangor and Titiwangsa district in Kuala Lumpur. 

The index case for the cluster was detected through individual symptomatic screening and is currently being treated at the Sungai Buloh hospital. 

For Labuan, the Bah Bundle cluster recorded three active cases, with 430 people screened. 131 tested negative while 296 others are waiting for their lab results.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Health recorded six new Covid-19 clusters, four in Selangor, one each in Sabah and Sarawak.
