PASIR MAS, Oct 2 — Police arrested a fishmonger and seized heroin worth RM40,000 which was hidden in a banana plantation in Kampung Tok Deh, Rantau Panjang, last Friday.

Pasir Mas Police chief, ACP Ibrahim Saad said after raiding a house at about 12.30pm, the 28-year-old suspect later led police to the house.

“We found 20 plastic bottles filled with white substance believed to be heroin in a rice bag,” he told reporters, here today.

Ibrahim said, the man would be remanded till Thursday (Oct 6) under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.

“We believe the suspect obtained the drugs from neighbouring countries to be marketed around Pasir Mas. The suspect’s urine test was however, negative,” he said. — Bernama
