KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 ― Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan today expressed support for the Sabah assembly’s motion to ban Nurul Izzah Anwar from entering the state over the Sulu “princess” photo blunder, saying it was fitting as it was inappropriate for a political leader to not know who the country’s enemies are.
Taking the matter one step further, Abdul Rahman, who is the MP for the Kota Belud federal constituency in Sabah, then asked Nurul Izzah how she planned on becoming the country’s prime minister when she appeared unable to recognise Malaysia’s foes.
“It (the motion) is appropriate.. If Nurul Izzah wants to become the prime minister and if Tian Chua wants to become a top leader… yet they don’t recognise the country's enemies.
“How can you become the prime minister then?” the minister asked.
He also added that Nurul Izzah’s explanation of her and fellow PKR vice-president Chua Tian Chang’s November 9 meeting with Sulu “princess” Jacel Kiram “did not make sense”.
Earlier today, the Sabah assembly approved a motion to ban both Nurul Izzah and Chua from entering the state over their recent meeting with Jacel, who is the daughter of self-styled Sulu “Sultan” Jamalal Kiram III, the man said to be responsible for the Lahad Datu invasion in 2013.
Under Jamalul’s orders, 200 armed men had attacked Sabah in February that year to stake the sultanate’s claim over the state, resulting in the death of 10 Malaysian security personnel.
