KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 — Khazanah Nasional Bhd has provided its foundation, Yayasan Hasanah, with a RM3 billion endowment, which will be invested to provide returns that will enable a targeted RM150 million in annual funding for the foundation.

The funding will cater to the foundation’s work in five core areas: education; community development; environment; arts, heritage and culture; and knowledge, as well as three other strategic initiatives, namely capacity building, public spaces and incubation of social enterprises.

Hasanah was established in 2014 to consolidate and expand Khazanah’s existing corporate responsibility work in these core areas, it said in a statement.

Hasanah’s Board of Trustees chairman, Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof, said the establishment of Hasanah marked a new chapter in Khazanah’s institutionalisation and ongoing transformation.

Md Nor, who is also a member of the Khazanah Board, presented Hasanah’s inaugural annual report, The Hasanah Report 2014, at a networking event with Hasanah’s partners.

The Hasanah Report 2014 features the foundation’s collaborations with various national initiatives as well as initiatives, programmes and impact that were delivered by its Civil Society Partner Organisations, throughout last year.

The Hasanah Report 2014 continues from Khazanah’s annual publication of its Corporate Responsibility Report since 2009. — Bernama
