KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 29 — A kindergarten teacher in Melbourne, Australia is going viral on social media for making handmade toys for her pupils from their drawings.
The matter came to light after it was shared by one of the pupils' parents Reid Parker, who also helped to set up a GoFundMe page for the teacher following prompts from social media users.
“All funds will be sent to the teacher to use or redistribute as she sees fit,” he wrote.
The toys were given to Parker's son Oscar and the rest of his kindergarten class with each one based on a monster the kids had been asked to draw, Fox13 News reported.
Parker then posted the photos on social media to “share how wonderful they [the toys] were.”
“I guess it came at the right time of the year, because it became a very widespread story and captured the hearts of a lot of people,” he wrote.
On Twitter, Reid's post had been viewed nearly four million times and shared 12,600 times.
It was also liked by 106,900 people.

On the GoFundMe, Parker explained that people wanted to help the teacher, who wished to remain anonymous, pay for supplies besides to say thank you for bringing joy to the pupils.
To date, the page had raised A$3,624 (RM10,881) of a A$5,000 (RM14,889) goal.
