NEW YORK, May 30 — Pop artist and designer KAWS revealed via Instagram that he has a new Uniqlo collaboration in the works, this time featuring the characters of Sesame Street.
Based on a series of three promotional images KAWS posted to Instagram, it appears the Uniqlo x KAWS x Sesame Street collaboration will feature depictions of several of the children’s show’s beloved characters, including Oscar, Ernie and Elmo.
Kaws has regularly collaborated with the Japanese retailer, with past KAWS x Uniqlo efforts — including a 2017 capsule collection featuring characters from Peanuts — resulting in ranges of graphic T-shirts, toys and tote bags, among other items.
The launch date of the Sesame Street line is unknown, although on Intagram KAWS refers to the collaboration as a “summer project”, suggesting a launch may be imminent. — AFP-Relaxnews
