LONDON, May 24 — The British ready-to-wear label, Winser London, has signed up Gillian Anderson to design a capsule collection for fall, Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) reported yesterday. The star of TV’s X-Files has designed five pieces for the brand, channelling elegance, femininity and comfort.
Following in the footsteps of model Yasmin Le Bon — who has been a muse and designer for Winser London for several seasons — Gillian Anderson is trying her hand at fashion design with a five-piece ready-to-wear capsule. This collab marks the first time that the American-British actress has designed a fashion collection.
The womenswear capsule includes a roll-neck cashmere sweater with a sporty twist, a wool-blend coat and black cigarette pants — three key pieces for the contemporary womenswear wardrobe.
The Winser London x Gillian Anderson collection is out in September in the brand’s British and American stores, and online at www.winserlondon.com.
Although best known for her roles in TV shows The X-Files and The Fall, Anderson has also starred in movies such as The Last King of Scotland and The House of Mirth. She also stars alongside Mila Kunis in The Spy Who Dumped Me, in theatres this summer. — AFP-Relaxnews
