BASEL, June 17 — Italian furniture maker Gufram presented a new “SuperGufram” collection at the Design Miami/Basel trade fair, which runs until June 18 in the Swiss city of Basel.
The first edition of the collection has been designed by Studio Job, based in Antwerp, Belgium and Amsterdam, Netherlands.
From a brick-wall-print punching bag to a coffee table topped with a cloud of steam: meet the new “SuperGufram” range from Gufram. The first edition of this new line has been designed by Studio Job, and is billed as a “new spin-off” of the Italian brand, bordering industrial design and applied art.
Each edition of “SuperGufram” will be a limited-edition capsule collection. Pieces in this first offering from Studio Job are all made in a limited seven-edition run. The collection, presented at Design Miami/Basel 2017, includes a red brick punching bag (Punch My Wall), a cooking pot coffee table topped with a cloud of steam (Steam), a cabinet featuring a Moon (Moon), a fence-style room divider finished to look like wood (Fence) and a spinning globe (Globe Stand).
Studio Job also celebrates the famous Cactus created in 1972 by Guido Drocco and Franco Mello for Gufram, revisited with a bright green finish and a copper-coloured pot.
Studio Job is the design studio of Job Smeets and Nynke Tyganel. The duo, known for their creations laced with humor and irony, are based between Antwerp and Amsterdam. — AFP-Relaxnews
