adidas 2016 US Open Barricade collection
Unveiling their latest tennis wear range ahead of the US Open, adidas have released their 2016 US Open Barricade collection, updating the brand’s FW16 collection.
The Barricade performance wear has been designed with adidas’ existing autumn colour palette of bold, block colours but with cleaner, simpler lines for a striking on-court look. The range also incorporates adidas’ Climacool fabrics and technology to draw sweat and heat away from the body, and enhance comfort when playing in hot and humid places like New York City. The range has also added a unique laser dot design for improved ventilation, which is sure to be appreciated by Wimbledon quarter-finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and world number 10 Dominic Thiem when they debut the collection on-court.
The NikeCourt x Roger Federer collection
NikeLab’s Summer of Sport has seen the sportswear brand release a series of exciting collections, including a collaboration between NikeCourt and tennis legend Roger Federer.
Rather than designing a sportswear range for on-court play, Nike and Federer have teamed up to create an off-court collection inspired by the player’s own elegant style.
The line was designed with high-quality fabrics and construction to reflect the athlete’s appreciation of premium craftsmanship. Federer also provided the design team with his own personal preferences on material, colour and silhouettes, with graphics and zippers incorporated into the range to reference the 17-time Grand Slam champion’s tennis legacy.
Fila Heritage Tennis
The new Heritage Tennis collection from FILA brings together the brand’s classic tennis silhouettes with modern detailing.
Designed in a colour palette of traditional tennis white combined with the brand’s signature red and blue, the collection also incorporates contemporary patterns and high-tech performance fabrics that feature textured mesh, ergonomic seam lines, and a high-quality stretch.
Additions such as clean crew-neck t-shirts and an update of the brand’s staple Heritage jacket give the collection a fresh, modern feel, as well as providing variety with traditional polos and both short and pant options.
