NEW YORK, April 22 — Everybody knows the safest way to tan is not to tan, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a bronzed glow this summer. Here are some of the latest fake tan products to hit the market, just in time for holiday season.

The shower gel

Tanning giant St. Tropez kickstarted the trend for in-shower tanning products last summer, and this year luxury brand Lancaster is getting in on the act. Its new In-Shower Lotion (€30 or RM132) uses “tan colour adapt technology” to deliver a light glow in just one minute. Simply massage into wet skin while in the shower and dry off as normal.

The instant bronzer

Benefit’s new Hoola Zero Tanlines instant bronzer (US$30 or RM117) is applied with a sponge, meaning you won’t be left with streaky hands when tanning in a hurry. The transfer-resistant formula claims to protect clothes from a similar fate, and the colour lasts for up to 12 hours.

The multi-tasker

Tanning brand Vita Liberata’s new Self Tanning Anti Age Serum (US$45) is designed to not only give you a sunkissed glow, but to actively plump the skin’s appearance and reduce visible wrinkles at the same time.

The towelette

Self-tan wipes have a bad reputation, but these new Self Tanning Towelettes (US$15.99) from Sun Bum promise to moisturise as they tan, thanks to a formula infused with Vitamin E and Pro-Vitamin B5. They are suitable for use on both the face and the body.

The gentle glow

For a subtle pick-me-up on peaky days, look no further than Clinique’s new Sun Kissed face Gelée Complexion Multitasker (US$26.50), designed to be mixed in with foundation for a light and authentic looking tan. Its oil-free gel formula promises lightweight yet noticeable coverage. — AFP-Relaxnews
