NEW YORK, April 2 — New York City is being transformed into a huge Easter egg hunting ground, thanks to the launch of ‘The Big Egg Hunt’ by luxury jewelry brand Fabergé.
Over 260 three-feet-high eggs designed by some of the biggest names in fashion, art and design, have been planted around the city. Designers include Jeff Koons, Tracey Emin, Carolina Herrera, Ralph Lauren and Zaha Hadid.
Participants can take part in the hunt by downloading the event’s app, registering to play and checking out the official map for ‘cracked’ and as-yet-unfound eggs. Clues and updates will be dispensed via Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
A weekly prize of a Fabergé gem-encrusted egg pendant will be given out, and all of the large egg designs will be put on display at the Rockerfeller Center on April 18 and put up for auction at Sotheby’s on April 22. Proceeds will go to the Asian conservation charity Elephant Family.
