LONDON, Dec 4 — Nike has unveiled a cool new sneaker collection that takes inspiration from a groundbreaking urban icon: the London Underground.
The brand's ever-iconic Air Max series gets a fresh update with a specially designed Jacquard pack, utilizing jacquard woven patterns made from moquette (a dense woven pile fabric) designed to match the upholstery of London's train cars. The commissioned District geometric pattern was created by famed designer Misha Black in 1978 and launched on new trains on the District Line.
The first 150 pairs will be released to the public at a Piccadilly Circus station pop-up kiosk space at 6 am on Saturday, December 14, as part of Transport for London's 150th anniversary.
The collection debuts in stores on the same day for price tags of £100 (around RM527) for the Air Max 90 Jacquard and £95 for the Air Max 1 Jacquard. — AFP-Relaxnews
