LOS ANGELES, Oct 2 — To mark what would have been the legendary singer’s 100th birthday, the Tennessee distillery is launching a very special whiskey.
Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Century, which went on sale yesterday, could very quickly be in short supply. Just 100 barrels were made and every resulting bottle is individually numbered.
“We worked very hard to achieve a special flavour and aroma for Sinatra Century in order to give Frank a proper 100th birthday gift,” said Master Distiller Jeff Arnett. “This meant working with the people who knew him the most, his family.”
“Jack Daniel’s was Dad’s drink of choice, whether entertaining friends, or making new acquaintances. Therefore, it only seems right that we raise a toast of Sinatra Century to the musical legend as we celebrate what would have been his 100th birthday this year,” said Frank Sinatra Jr.
Each bottle will come in a specially designed display box along with a selection of previously unreleased Frank Sinatra recordings. And as for price, Jack Daniel’s says that it will cost “approximately US$499 (RM2,215) per litre”. — AFP-Relaxnews
