MIRI, June 18 — Accor Hotel, which manages the five-star Pullman hotels in Putrajaya, Bangsar and Kuching, aims to expand its network in the next three years.

Chief operating officer for Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, Gerard Guillouet, said at the moment its three hotels have 1,100 rooms.

He said Accor would add its fourth hotel in Miri by next year and a fifth by 2017.

“With the 328-room of Pullman Miri Waterfront hotel expected to be opened by end-2015, the Pullman network will have over 1,500 rooms,” he said

Guillouet said Pullman was Accor's upscale hotel brand designed to meet requirements of modern business travellers and it aimed to have 150 hotels worldwide by 2020.

He said this at the signing of hotel management agreement between Accor Hotels and Unique Harvest Sdn Bhd, a ubsidiary of Interhill Group.

Also present was Sarawak Tourism Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Abang Johari said once the hotel was completed the state goverment would promote Miri City as another meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions (MICE) destination in Sarawak beside Kuching City.

Unique Harvest project director, Alice Hu, said the collaboration would further boost Miri City's image in term of tourism as well as job opportunities that catered to all market segments including MICE. — Bernama
