KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 — While Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) lost one former international in K. Maheswari, it announced another as chief executive officer (CEO) after an impromptu executive council meeting yesterday.

Malay Mail columnist Logan Raj, who donned the national colours from 1997-2007, will be tasked to carry out policies and directives by the president and executive board.

“Logan needs to ensure MHC’s relevance to society, accomplish the body’s visions and missions, the fulfilment of key performance indicators (KPI) and the accountability of MHC to its various stakeholders,” said new president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal.

“He starts work with immediate effect on a two-year contract and will assume the day-to-day management in the office tomorrow.”

Logan, a senior industry analyst for Frost & Sullivan is also experienced in programme and project management.

Subahan also announced the appointment of S. Selvendran as treasurer. Subahan will head the national team and the finance committee. Other committee chairmen will be announced at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, Maheswari said she will not accept an independent member role after losing the elections.

“I will not accept an independent role in the new executive council. Maybe after four years, I’ll seek a return.”
