KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 — South Korean boyband BTS member V (Taehyung) has finally released his long-awaited solo debut.
Layover is the 27-year-old’s first solo album, featuring Slow Dancing as a new single which was released alongside a music video earlier today.
The music video features V embracing the summer vibes, as he travels on a road trip with his friends and relaxes in a clear pool.
“In keeping with its title, it’s a song that you can listen to while feeling relaxed,” V said in a statement.
“I hope that everyone will be able to feel free and relaxed at least during the time when they’re listening to this song.”
The singer added that he made Slow Dancing because he thought BTS’ superfans called ARMY would enjoy it the most.
The soulful 70s-inspired R&B track is accompanied by soulful soothing ballads Rainy Days, Blue, Love Me Again and For Us.
Rainy Days and Love Me Again were pre-released in August, accompanied by individual music videos.
V collaborated with popular Kpop girl group NewJeans executive producer Min Hee-jin in all aspects of his new album.
They worked together on the music production, dance choreography, music videos and marketing materials of the project.
BIGHIT Music said in a statement that V will show his ‘unique charms’ with Layover which fully expresses his musical style and artistic vision.
