KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 — Chinese singer and former EXO member Kris Wu is now signed with international record label, Universal Music Group.

As reported on On CC, the news was confirmed by the Journey to the West actor in a statement released recently, “It’s a great pleasure for me to be part of this collaboration with Universal Music Group. I am enjoying the opportunity to share my vision of music.”

“As a singer and music producer, I hope more and more people will be able to enjoy my work. Through this collaboration with Universal Music Group, I hope to be able to prove to everyone that Chinese producers can also make music that people can listen to around the world.”

On the other hand, UMG Chairman Lucian Grainge stated that the company chose to cooperate with the singer because of his talents in music.

“I’m thrilled that he is joining the UMG family and honoured that we will have the opportunity to build upon his remarkably successful career,” he stated.

Through the new deal, Kris will be able to able to release singles in different markets, and distribution would be handled by the many UMG subsidiaries including Interscope Geffen A&M in the United States, Island Records in the United Kingdom, and Universal Music China. — CinemaOnline
