LOS ANGELES, Jan 18 — The star of 10 Cloverfield Lane takes the female lead part in Gemini Man, joining Will Smith in the next film from Taiwanese director Ang Lee.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead is to work for a professional assassination agency in 2019 film Gemini Man.

She’s to be tasked with monitoring Will Smith character Henry, an assassin past his prime, who is being pursued by his own, younger clone.

Winstead broke through with appearances in Final Destination 3, Death Proof and Live Free or Die Hard.

A prestigious Independent Spirit Award nomination followed her incredible performance in Smashed, she led political horror comedy BrainDead, and co-starred opposite Ewan McGregor in season 3 of Fargo—another project which, like Gemini, had its male lead playing two characters.

As for Ang Lee, he collected Oscars for martial arts epic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, wild west drama Brokeback Mountain, and boatbound survival story Life of Pi.

Clive Owen is expected to take a role as a Gemini Man antagonist, with the finished film currently anticipated for early October 2019. — AFP-Relaxnews
