DUBLIN, March 9 — Ruth Negga, the Loving and Preacher actress has been nominated to the Irish Film & Television Academy’s annual awards ceremony for her achievements in feature film and episodic formats.

Several films generated nominations across a number of categories ahead of the Irish Film & Television Awards on April 8, 2017, with historical war film The Seige of Jadotville and independent crime comedy The Young Offenders among them, and An Klondike, Vikings and Game of Thrones doing the same in TV.

Ethiopian-Irish actress Ruth Negga picked up Best Actress nominations in Film (Loving) and TV Drama (Preacher).

Other Irish performers named by the Academy included Caitriona Balfe (Outlander), Ruth Bradley (Humans) and Dominique McElligott (House of Cards), as well as Michael Fassbender (The Light Between Two Oceans), Jamie Dornan (The Siege of Jadotville), Colin Farrell (Fantastic Beasts...) and Brendan Gleeson (Trespass Against Us). — AFP-Relaxnews
