LOS ANGELES, May 11 ― Johnny Depp and Marion Cotillard are set to star in a film based on the real-life scandal of Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Depp will star as a French diplomat who is accused of sexual assault and placed under house arrest in The Libertine.

Strauss-Kahn was the managing director of the International Monetary Fund until 2011 following allegations he had assaulted a hotel maid. The civil suit was eventually settled out of court.

The script is penned by Ben Kopit and the film directed by Brett Ratner.

Incidentally, Depp has already starred in a film also called The Libertine back in 2004. ― AFP-Relaxnews
