LOS ANGELES, April 25 ― Writer and director Lorene Scafaria tapped into her real-life relationship with her mother for the comedy The Meddler, starring Susan Sarandon as Marnie, a widow who moves to Los Angeles to be closer to her daughter (Rose Byrne).
In this comic scene, the mother crosses one too many of the daughter’s boundaries. During a recent interview in New York, Scafaria explained how her relationship with her mother led to the film. ― New York Times
