LOS ANGELES, Feb 10 — American video-on-demand site Hulu will air its latest original production on Monday, February 15. Starring James Franco, 11.22.63 is a historical fantasy thriller based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name.
Jake Epping, a recently divorced high-school English teacher, discovers the existence of a time portal leading straight back to 1958. To help a dying friend, he accepts to carry out a mission in the past to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy before November 22, 1963.
In his big return to the small screen, James Franco will be playing Jake Epping, the teacher with the power to change the course of history and prevent the Vietnam War if successful in his feat. Epping’s travels in the past lead him to cross paths with a certain Lee Harvey Oswald, as well as Sadie Dunhill, a librarian who he falls in love with.
Sarah Gadon, seen in several David Cronenberg movies (Cosmopolis, Maps to the Stars and A Dangerous Method), will be starring as the librarian love interest, alongside Cherry Jones (24), T.R. Knight (Grey’s Anatomy) and Josh Duhamel (Battle Creek). The series has a star line-up behind the camera too, with J.J. Abrams and Stephen King on production plus Kevin MacDonald (The Last King of Scotland) in the director’s chair. — AFP-Relaxnews
