KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 — Glad to be here ! answered the legendary rock band lead singer Jon Bon Jovi from the ‘Bon Jovi’ band, when asked by Bernama, “Do you miss Malaysia?”

After 20 long years, the old time legendary American rock band ‘Bon Jovi’ is back on Malaysian shores to perform at Stadium Merdeka this Saturday.

Bon Jovi is amazed with the rapid development in Malaysia, especially the city of Kuala Lumpur, with skyscrapers mushrooming everywhere, compared to their last visit in 1995.

“It feels great to come back here, as it is totally different from our last visit. I think it (Kuala Lumpur) has changed dramatically. Kuala Lumpur has progressed a lot.

Even though most of the band members are well over 50 now, Bon Jovi said the band’s spirit is still flaring like the old days to satisfy their Malaysian fans.

Bon Jovi said fans will be treated to an unforgettable night of Bon Jovi’s huge arsenal of worldwide hits, including Livin’ On A Prayer, You Give Love A Bad Name, It’s My Life, Have A Nice Day, and also the Grammy winning ‘Who Says You Can’t Go Home’ at their concert this weekend.

Meanwhile, Malaysia Major Events (MME) general manager Tony Nagamaiah expected about 3,000 international fans from around the region to be at the concert, contributing close to RM27 million in economic impact to the country.

“It is exciting for us to support the return of Bon Jovi to Malaysia, since the world renowned rock band last performed here in 1995.

“The staging of Bon Jovi further showcases Malaysia’s profile as a spectacular host to popular artistes from different parts of the world,” he told Bernama.
