LOS ANGELES, Oct 10 — “Smallville” star Tom Welling will become one of two love interests in the movie version of Nicholas Sparks romance “The Choice.”
Welling, known for his 10-year stint as Clark Kent and Superman in TV series “Smallville,” is to become the doctor boyfriend of Gabby Holland (Teresa Palmer of “Warm Bodies”).
But when Gabby moves in next door to Travis Parker (Benjamin Walker of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”), she sees other possibilities and a difficult decision awaits.
Maggie Grace of “Californication” and “Lost” has been brought in as Travis's younger sister; Ross Katz directs, having previously worked as producer on “Marie Antoinette” and “Lost in Translation” before steering 2014 comedy “Adult Beginners.”
Nine of Sparks's novels have made it into screen form, starting with 1999's Kevin Costner and Robin Wright movie “Message in a Bottle,” while the 2004 conversion of “The Notebook” had Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in lead roles. — AFP-Relaxnews
