LOS ANGELES, June 2 — A-list actress Gwyneth Paltrow has recently been criticised after she compared Twitter trolls to being at war.

In her speech at a tech conference, Paltrow described the internet as being in its “adolescent phase” and as there’s so much online abuse, it can be “dehumanising”.

When asked about her statement, Gwyneth went on to explain that “it’s almost like how, in war you go through this bloody, dehumanising thing, and then something is defined out of it” and then added that the internet allows “the opportunity to project outward our hatred and jealousy”.

However, people have criticised her comparison and have even taken offence to it, including the likes of US Senator John McCain’s wife Cindy, who after explaining that two of her sons were serving in the military, suggested that “perhaps Gwyeneth Paltrow should go out on patrol with some soldiers. Kind of like a Red Carpet in her mind”. — Cover Media
