LOS ANGELES, May 16 — Mark Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager thinks he’s just found a Transformer — and with government agent Harold Attinger (Kelsey Grammar) on his tail, he’s not the only one.

Michael Bay’s fourth Transformers film, “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” is set in a world where a sophisticated product designer (Stanley Tucci) has cracked the secret of creating powerful, larger-than-life robots.

That’s against a backdrop of growing public distrust when it comes to the self-aware Transformers who, after the battle for Chicago in “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” don’t have the most pristine of reputations.

“After all we have done, humans are hunting us,” intones Peter Cullen, the voice of Autobot leader Optimus Prime, who also finds himself pursued by a deadly gun-headed Decepticon assassin, Lockdown.

Nicola Peltz (“The Last Airbender”) appears as Yaeger’s daughter, Tessa, with Jack Reynor (“What Richard Did”) installed as her petrolhead boyfriend.

With action taking place not only in the US but also Hong Kong and mainland China, Chinese actress Li Bingbing (“The Message”) and MTV music award winner Han Geng are also set to appear, with another four having come through a public and televised audition process.
