LOS ANGELES, Nov 29 ― The forthcoming adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s lesser-known plays has just released its first trailer.

Uploaded to YouTube, the trailer provides a first look into the gritty setting of this modern adaptation of “Cymbeline.” Ancient Rome and England, where the original play was set, have given way to a dark corner of contemporary America, where a war is being waged between biker gangs and corrupt police officers.

The plot remains the same, however, focusing on the impossible love between Imogen (Dakota Johnson) and Posthumus (Penn Badgley), and on the conniving influence of the Queen (Milla Jovovich) on her husband, King Cymbeline (Ed Harris). Ethan Hawke, Anton Yelchin and John Leguizamo are also featured in the film, helmed by Michael Almereyda. Release dates for “Cymbeline” have yet to be announced. ― AFP-Relaxnews
