KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 ― The FBM KLCI was easier at mid-afternoon today weighed down by selling in blue-chips, dealers said.
At 3pm, the key index was 0.04-of-a-point weaker at 1,698.31 versus last Friday's close of 1,698.35, after opening 0.45-of-a-point lower at 1,697.90
Losers outpaced gainers by 549 to 295, with 317 counters unchanged, 559 untraded and 54 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 2.02 billion shares worth RM1.04 billion.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank gained three sen to RM8.63, TNB added two sen to RM13.52, Public Bank eased four sen to RM19.98, Sime Darby slid five sen to RM9.15 and Petronas Chemicals slipped seven sen to RM7.34.
Among actives, D.B.E. Gurney warrants improved half-a-sen to 1.5 sen, AT Systemization and Dagang Nexchange warrants shed half-a-sen each to four sen and 13.5 sen respectively, while KNM slid 4.5 sen to 31 sen.
The FBM Emas Index slid 4.63 points to 11,970.88, FBM Emas Shariah Index shed 1.38 points to 12,388.88 and the FBM Ace dropped 93.64 points to 5,296.34.
The FBM 70 improved 10.27 points to 13,882.12 and the FBMT100 Index edged up 1.82 points to 11,654.37.
Sector-wise, the Plantation index jumped 37.84 points to 8,103.92, Finance Index was 11.46 points lower at 15,116.24 and the Industrial Index shed 14.58 points to 3,270.70. ― Bernama
