KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 — Bursa Malaysia was marginally lower at mid-afternoon today with selling mostly seen in index-linked counters and key heavyweights, dealers said.

At 3.04pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,662.02, down three points from yesterday’s closing after moving between 1,661.41 and 1,665.13.

Losses in CIMB dragged down the composite index by 1.038 points. The stock lost seven sen to MR4.75 with 10.9 million shares traded.      

There were 310 gainers and 340 losers, while 397 counters were unchanged, 611 untraded and 18 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 863.58 million shares worth RM870.9 million.               

Of the heavyweights, Tenaga fell four sen to RM14.44, Public Bank eased two sen to RM19.72 and IHH Healthcare slipped one sen to RM6.43.

Maybank and Petronas Chemicals were flat at RM7.63 and RM6.81 respectively.

Among actives, Nexgram and Asia Media inched up half-a-sen each to 6.5 sen and 24 sen respectively. AT Systematization fell one sen to six sen.

The FBM Emas Index trimmed 8.44 points to 11,749.89, FBM Emas Shariah Index slipped 1.55 points to 12,414.12, FBM Ace declined 31.48 points to 5,150.36 and the FBMT100 Index decreased 9.13 points to 11,448.1.

The FBM 70, however, rose 30.75 points to 13,780.49.

On a sectoral basis, the Plantation Index eased 1.65 points for 7,904.45, Finance Index gave up 14.13 points for 14,249.28 and the Industrial Index declined 6.87 points to 3,119.66. — Bernama
