KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 — The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) ended lower today on lack of catalysts, said a dealer.   

At 5pm, the benchmark index eased 1.33 points to 1,683.09 after moving between 1,674.67 and 1,688.79 throughout the day.

Market breadth was negative compared to the firmer trend in most regional markets.

Decliners edged gainers by 439 to 425 while 359 counters were unchanged, 621 untraded and 75 others were suspended.

Volume decreased to 2.33 billion shares worth RM1.97 billion from 2.77 billion shares worth RM2.37 billion yesterday. 

Among heavyweights, Maybank rose seven sen to RM8.48 and TNB and Public Bank gained two sen each to RM13.60 and RM18.26 respectively.

Petronas Chemicals eased eight sen to RM6.84 and Axiata fell two sen to RM6.16.

Of the actives, KNM went up 2.5 sen to 53.5 sen, Ingenuity edged up half-a-sen to seven sen, Borneo Oil was flat at 16 sen, Instacom declined one sen to 31 sen and DPS Resources inched down half-a-sen to 14.5 sen.  On the scoreboard, the FBM Emas Index inched down 0.09 point to 11,693.32, FBMT100 Index fell 2.69 points to 11,374.46 and the FBM Emas Shariah Index advanced 7.85 points to 12,632.51.

The FBM Ace appreciated 14.06 points to 6,739.4 and the FBM 70 was 20.27 points higher to 12,905.48.

Sector-wise, the Industrial Index eased 4.26 points to 3,300.63 and the Plantation Index fell 6.74 points to 7,513.83.

The Finance Index appreciated expanded 7.58 points to 14,138.02.

Main Market volume went down to 1.52 billion units worth RM1.77 billion from 1.72 billion units worth RM2.12 billion yesterday. 

Turnover on the ACE Market fell to 635.6 million shares valued at RM170.35 million from yesterday’s 861.97 million shares valued at RM222.84 million.

Warrants went down to 171.79 million units worth RM22.63 million from 181.77 million units worth RM25.26 million previously.

Consumer products accounted for 100.99 million shares traded on the Main Market, industrial products (363.07 million), construction (56.03 million), trade and services (677.73 million), technology (47.81 million), infrastructure (7.02 million), SPAC (2.03 million), finance (72.24 million), hotels (1.06 million), properties (182.53 million), plantations (7.52 million), mining (1,000), REITs (5.71 million) and closed/fund (57,000). — Bernama
