KUCHING, April 23 — The Sarawak Barisan Nasional will respect Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS)’s decision to sack its deputy president Datuk Joseph Entulu and four others as members.

“We have to respect their decision, that is all,” state BN chairman Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Openg told reporters today after attending a graduation ceremony of Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak campus.

He said Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB) of which he is the president, will not take the four into its fold.

Entulu, who is also the minister in the prime minister’s department, Lubok Antu incumbent member of parliament Datuk William Nyallau Badak, and supreme council members Nyampah Sabut, Adriana Chumang Nyambong and Edward Kurik were sacked after the party’s special task force found them guilty of bringing the party into public disrepute and ridicule.

Entulu, Nyallau and Nyampah were accused of publicly stating that they were the party’s candidates for Selangau, Lubok Antu and Julau respectively, knowing that the party had already picked its choices for the 14th general election.

Chumang and Kurik were accused of working together with Entulu.

Abang Johari said that he will announce the names of 31 state Barisan Nasional candidates tomorrow.

He said the names were decided by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is also the national Barisan Nasional chairman.

Meanwhile,  Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS Baru) has offered to take Entulu and his four supporters as its members so they can continue with their political struggle.

“Our door is open if they want to join us,” its Youth chief Rapelson Richard Hamit said today.

He said the party supreme has agreed to take them in, if they decided to find a new political platform to continue their political struggle.

Hamit accused PRS president Tan Sri Dr James Masing of suppressing dissents by expelling them from the party.

“Strong people don’t put others down, but lift them up. What he did to the four are unacceptable as a leader,” he said.
