KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 — Local think tank Invoke Malaysia (Invoke) today announced that 17,594 volunteers have signed up with them as polling and counting agents (PACA) nationwide.

Invoke founder Rafizi Ramli, through a statement, said some of these volunteers have completed the required training, while some are scheduled to attend the MegaPACA training to be held at several locations nationwide.

Rafizi said a surge of volunteers who registered themselves after the dissolution of Parliament gave him confidence of hitting Invoke’s 40,000 volunteers and 20,000 PACAs target required for the 14th general election.

“Invoke now has 32,455 volunteers, where about 7,500 of them registered after the dissolution of parliament.

“At the rate of 800 new volunteers registering every day, I am confident Invoke will surpass its target,” he said.

Rafizi said the next step for the think tank would be managing and assigning a constituency to each PACA volunteer for the May 9 elections.

“Invoke’s PACA unit is doing this and we hope to complete the assignment process by this week.

“We will inform each volunteer the constituency they are assigned to within a week,” it read.
