KUANTAN, Jan 27 — The Sultan of Pahang’s younger sister, Datuk Tengku Nor Akmar Sultan Abu Bakar, led the list of 196 recipients of state awards and medals at an investiture ceremony held at Istana Abu Bakar in Pekan, near here, in conjunction with the sultan’s birthday celebration.

Tengku Nor Akmar was among 21 recipients of the Darjah Kebesaran Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (SSAP), which carries the title “Datuk Seri”, presented by the Regent of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, at the ceremony.

Chief Judge of Malaya Tan Sri Ahmad Maarop; Federal Court judges Tan Sri Ramly Ali, Tan Sri Azahar Mohamed and Datuk Balia Yusof Wahi; former Pahang State Secretary Datuk Wan Abdullah Wan Salleh; and director-general of the Research Division in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk  Hasanah Ab Hamid also received the SSAP.

The other SSAP recipients include Road Transport Department (RTD) director-general Datuk Shaharuddin Khalid; Bukit Aman Commercial CID director, CP Datuk Amar Singh; Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department director, CP Datuk Tajudin Md Isa; Senator Datuk Dr Hou Kok Chung and Bina Mahir Sdn Bhd executive chairman,  Datuk  Khairuddin Yaakob.

Sultan Ahmad Shah also conferred the Darjah Kebesaran Sri Indera Mahkota Pahang (SIMP), which carries the title “Datuk Indera”, on Public Services Department (PSD) Services Division director Datuk Noridah Abdul Rahim; Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government deputy secretary-general (Management) Khairul Dzaimee Daud and Terengganu State Development Officer Datuk Nik Nasarudin Mohd Zawawi. 

Eleven  individuals received the Darjah Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (DSAP) with the title “Datuk”, including Sri Ternak Properties executive director Tengku Abdul Muiz Shah Tengku Temenggong Abdul Aziz, Orang Besar Enam Belas Pahang Datuk Tengku Abdul Manan Tengku Temenggong Abdul Aziz, Alam Jitu Bina Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk  Ahmad Latifi Abd Malek and Orang Besar Enam Belas Datuk Tengku Mohd Mustaffa Tengku Ibrahim.

The other recipients of the DSAP were Selangor Royal Malaysian Customs Department (Customs) director Datuk  Sarip Ismail, Premier Material Supplier director Datuk  Quek Ching Hong, PSD Research, Planning and Policy Division director Suhaime Mahbar, PSD Public Sector Transformation Division director Dr George Patrick @ Marimuthu, National Security Council deputy director-general Ahmad Shublee Othman, CF Uniform Sdn Bhd managing director Cheng Siew Seng and Gastra Sdn Bhd chief financial officer Phua Tzyh Lih.

Sixty-six individuals received the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP), which also carries the title “Datuk”, including actor Mohd Fairus Zainal Abidin or Fizz Fairus, who is also managing director of Rain Maker Creation Sdn Bhd; National Puspanita deputy chairman Datin Seri Nik Hasmah Nik Kadir; and Ilham Raudah Entegreted Sdn Bhd director Datin Siti Hapizah Md Kail.

The other DIMP recipients: Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) Research Division management director Ruslin Jusoh, Election Commission panel of advisers member Ahmad Adli Abdullah, Perak Customs director Abd Manan Muda, Penang Customs director Saidi Ismail, Johor RTD director Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus, and Customs (GST Division) director Ahmad Maher Abd Jalil and its Customs Division director Nor Haziah Abd Wahab.
