PENDANG, Jan 5 — A nine-year-old disabled boy, suspected to be a victim of abuse was warded at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar yesterday.
He sustained burns in the soles of his feet, believed to have been caused by a hot iron rod.
The victim’s father, in his 30s, has been detained to facilitate investigations.
Pendang police chief, DSP Fadzil Hashim said the suspect was picked up about 4.30pm following a report by the victim’s school teacher at the Pendang police headquarters.
He said the boy was reported to be in stable condition. — Bernama
