KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 ― The flash flood which struck the Gombak-bound Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) near the Sri Subramaniar Temple in Batu Caves late this afternoon, was fuelled by heavy downpour for over two hours.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department director Khirudin Drahman said the heavy downpour started since 4pm, causing flooding and traffic snarl in the area.

“We have also received a report on tree branches falling onto the roof of a bus stand at the Pekeliling Bus Terminal due to heavy rain,” he said when contacted here today.

Khirudin said the department’s personnel cut and removed the branches. ― Bernama
