IPOH, Dec 5 — A woman was found dead in the toilet in her home in the Tambun Flats here today.

The victim, Lee Choon Lai, 49, was found on the floor between the toilet bowl and the wall of her toilet, clad only in a blouse.

Ipoh District Deputy Police Chief Supt Mohd Nor Rasid said police were informed about the incident at 1.30pm today by the victim’s neighbour.

“Police sought the assistance of the fire brigade to extricate the victim and investigations found her home in a tidy state, without any sign of a struggle,” he said in a statement here tonight.

Mohd Nor said initial investigations found the victim who was single, had lived in her home for 25 years and had been alone since the death of her parents.

He said according to a neighbour, the last time she saw Lee was on Saturday before she detected a foul smell coming from her home and contacted the police.

Mohd Nor said the victim who suffered from kidney problems and critical-stage diabetes was supposed to get medical treatment at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) on Nov 30, but did not do so.

The case has been classified as sudden death and the victim’s body has been sent to the (HRPB) for a post-mortem. — Bernama
