KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 — Local activist Abdul Rani Kulup Abdullah, who holds the record for the most police reports lodged, yesterday suffered an injury to his left hand that required 13 stitches.
The Pertubuhan Martabat Jalinan Muhibbah Malaysia (MJMM) president said that he was launching a community bowling event at the Summit Mall in Subang when he slipped, fell and hit his left hand on a metal stand.
“My left palm was torn open and blood was flowing out, but I covered it by keeping my hand in a fist to avoid those around me from panicking. Some were screaming when the saw the blood but I just kept my cool, he told Malay Mail Online.
Abdul Rani said that some then offered him some tissues to wipe his blood, not realising that the cut to his palm was deep.
“I only showed my injury to my friend, who was also the event’s organiser, after the launch ended, and told him that I needed to go to the clinic,” he said.
Abdul Rani said that he was rushed to a nearby clinic in USJ, where his cut was dressed.
However, he was told that his cut was deep and was advised to go to a hospital for further treatment.
“But I had my responsibilities to finish at the event, so I went back after the dressing because there was a prize-giving ceremony which I had to attend. Only after the event ended around 6pm, did I leave for PPUM,” he said referring to the University Malaya Medical Centre.
“I received 13 stitches. Three internal ones and 10 external,” he added.
