BESUT, April 11 — Angry over not getting his demands met, an unemployed man believed to be under the influence of drugs, stabbed his father in the chest with a kitchen knife in Kampung Cawat, Kuala Besut, yesterday.

The victim was rushed to Besut District Hopital before being sent to the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan, for further treatment.

Besut district police chief Supt Khaled Che Lah, when confirming the incident, said that before the incident the 30-year-old suspect was said to have met his father, 67, at about 6.30am.

“Police managed to arrest the suspect in an unnumbered house in Kuala Besut a few hours after they received the report”, he told the media here today.

The suspect has been placed under remand. — Bernama
