KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 19 — When global average surface temperature in 2015 broke all previous records by a very wide margin, data show that Kuala Lumpur last year recorded 3.9°C higher than its average temperature of 28.4°C. (see data chart here)

According to the AccuWeather database of 3,116 cities made available by the New York Times, rainfall in Kuala Lumpur was lower than average throughout last year except during the months of January, November and December.
