GEORGE TOWN, Nov 18 — PAS members who held positions in the Penang’s Community Development and Security Committee (JKKK) were sacked last month, ago, state Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon said today.

He added that the fired PAS representatives have since been replaced with those who fully support the Pakatan Harapan state government.

“We issued the termination letters to them a month ago,” he told a press conference at the state legislative assembly meeting room together with Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

“We have vetted through all the PAS members in the JKKKs and issued termination letters to those who do not support the Pakatan Harapan state government,” he said.

He estimated about 300 PAS members were issued the termination letters as there are about 15 JKKK with about 20 PAS members in each committee.

The JKKK are mostly located at the southwest district on the island and at central and northern Seberang Perai.

Last night, PAS Kepala Batas chief Bukhori Ghazali gave a press conference stating his decision to resign from the JKKK.

Mohd Rashid said the question of PAS members resigning from the JKKKs did not arise since they were already terminated from their positions.
